Are you a dynamic and experienced senior HR practitioner who enjoys the challenges that come with managing ER/IR issues? Do you possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the business? If you answered “Yes” to the above, we have the perfect role for you as a member of the City of Ryde HR team.
The City of Ryde is a modern local government organisation with a workforce of over 500 employees who deliver a wide range of vital services to our community. The focus of your role will be to provide expert advice to Managers and staff across a range of HR issues including performance management, interpretation of Legislation, Award conditions, organisational policies and procedures and best practice HR initiatives.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of special projects and will play a key role in implementing the programs, policies, and work practices that resulted in us recently being recognised as an Employer of Choice in the Australian Business Awards.
Key requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or similar
- Track record of achievement as a HR advisor or business partner with a strong background in managing Employee Relations issues
- Strong analytical skills with experience in the interpretation/application of Legislation, Awards, Agreements and HR policies and procedures
- Experience in an organisation with a unionised, multi-faceted workforce that included professional, office and trades/outdoor operations staff
- Experience dealing with a wide range of HR matters including performance management, employee engagement and coaching Managers in best practice HR processes
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships with Business Managers and staff
- Excellent written communication skills with proven experience preparing a wide range of HR documentation
- Excellent level of PC skills, ideally with CHRIS 21 experience
This position will provide you with professional challenge together with career development opportunities and has a salary range from $75,670 to $95,972 p.a. (plus superannuation) with your commencing level dependent on your experience and qualifications.
